Nuclear Waste Management Organization CMS Website Recognized
Regina SK - Microsoft Canada today announced ADXSTUDIO Inc. as a finalist for the 2005 Impact Awards under the category of Community and Initiative Awards - Community Leadership. The Impact Awards are an annual recognition of excellence from among the diverse community of Microsoft resellers and solution providers across Canada.
The award nomination detailed how the implementation of the ADXSTUDIO CMS content management system for the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the community in Canada.
"We're especially proud to be recognized for the NWMO website in the Community Leadership category" said Doug Schneider, President of ADXSTUDIO Inc. "The NWMO is fulfilling the critical role of providing strategic and tactical recommendations to government regarding the long-term management of Canada's nuclear fuel waste. This is of substantive importance to current Canadian citizens and impacts future generations to come. ADXSTUDIO CMS and supporting web applications have empowered the NWMO to effectively engage and inform Canadian citizens each step of the way."
The multi-lingual NWMO website (www.nwmo.ca) features a host of enhanced interaction and engagement functions including polls, deliberative engagement surveys and a unique submissions application which aggregates contributed documents into a comprehensive, public library of Canadian perspectives on the management of nuclear fuel waste.
"Our success will be determined by our ability to engage interested Canadians in this important public policy discussion," said Elizabeth Dowdeswell, NWMO President, when the website was first launched. "This website is one of several innovative techniques we've embraced to help us reach Canadians and help them reach us."
Incorporating ADXSTUDIO CMS, Microsoft IIS and SQL Server, and leveraging .NET, the NWMO website stands as evidence of effective integration and extension of Microsoft technologies. All inbound correspondence is fully integrated with Microsoft CRM and Exchange server.
ADXSTUDIO experience in Canadian public policy arenas developed in support of another important national organization, the Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada. Led by former Saskatchewan Premier Roy Romanow, several online public engagement techniques were successfully applied, resulting in recommendations for sweeping changes to the Canadian system of Medicare. The fully bilingual CMS website and supporting applications were developed by ADXSTUDIO.
The Microsoft 2005 Impact Awards will be held on October 20th in Toronto Ontario. Award recipients will be announced in four categories: Solutions, Reseller, Marketing and Community & Initiative. The ADXSTUDIO Inc. finalist nomination for the Community Leadership Award will be judged on several community based dimensions including the number of people impacted, the focus of the solution, society need met, benefits to recipient constituents and overall reach.
