Simplified Publishing Experience
ADXSTUDIO CMS separates a website into content, presentation, and applications. This approach removes the technical challenges associated with publishing to a live website and allows content authors to focus on content development. The CMS applies the appropriate template and application logic to each page which ensures that brand identity and the desired user experience are respected. Because ADXSTUDIO CMS content is delivered dynamically and in real-time, content authors are able to view their changes instantaneously on the website. |
Content authors have full control of when a page is published on the website. ADXSTUDIO CMS page editors provide release and expiration dates fields that the CMS uses to determine when the page can be published and/or removed from presentation on the website. The CMS ensures that all links within the website are validated against these rules.
These options allow content authors to prepare content for a future release without worrying about making changes at the last minute. To make publishing even easier, if release dates are not provided, those pages will be available the moment they are published.
Most websites are managed by a team of content authors, reviewers, and approvers. ADXSTUDIO CMS combines several workflow features such as customizable states, permissions, notification emails and preview capabilities into a complete workflow process that makes it easier for both large and small teams to work together efficiently during all aspects of the publishing process.
ADXSTUDIO CMS implements a state-based workflow model that can be customized to meet simple or very complex publishing models. A simplified model would involve two states - 'draft' and 'published', but more complex workflow models include other states for review and approval or other stages in the content lifecycle.
Users are usually grouped into customized publishing roles, and rules are defined on the various document states based on these publishing roles. For example, product managers may have permissions to create a document and manage it while it is still in the 'draft' state, and can submit it to review by changing the state to 'review'. Communication managers would have additional permissions of editing the document while in the review state and changing its state to 'published'.
ADXSTUDIO CMS also facilitates communication between all members of the publishing team by sending notification emails as a document progresses through its lifecycle. For example, the communication manager would receive notification that a new document has been submitted for review when the author saves the document in the 'review' state. The content and distribution of workflow email notifications can be easily configured to suit the requirements of the publishing team.
Being a dynamic content management system that publishes on a live server, workflow states are used by the ADXSTUDIO CMS to determine whether or not a page should be visible on the website. Content authors have the additional ability to preview pages despite the current workflow state, even before the pages are visible to the public.
Using the advanced ADXSTUDIO CMS editors, multimedia files can be easily inserted into web pages with context relevant parameters tagged, without need for any specific technical knowledge. Content authors can simply browse to the media file on their local computer or network and ADXSTUDIO CMS will upload the asset, recognize and identify it's media type, then present the publishing and presentation characteristics appropriate for inclusion. Content authors can also publish related captions and alternate text tags. Publishing rich multimedia files to your website could not get any easier.
Using the ADXSTUDIO CMS web console, content authors can manage more than just the text and images of a document. They also have full publishing control of all application elements such as graphic and text advertisement modules, polls, quotes, slideshows, discussion forums, and even surveys.
ADXSTUDIO CMS is designed to support the publishing of both multilingual and multi-regional content within a single website solution.
Editors within the web console allow content authors to manage content in multiple languages for any given page. Using a number of different mechanisms, CMS website templates can be configured to display content in the appropriate language based on the preference of the site visitor. Content authors have the choice to keep a single content hierarchy and manage each multilingual page as one entity, or they can publish specific pages that are only displayed for specific languages or regions, or they can have diverging content trees for each language or region.
